Our Free Shipping Service

Mega Motion Free Standard Shipping

Your Mega Motion lift chair purchase includes free threshold deliver, which means your lift chair will be delivered into your front door.

In some rare instances, the carrier may not be able to deliver your lift chair directly to your home or front door. This could be due to weather, a narrow driveway, or having too many stairs to the front door. In these situations, the shipping company may be able to make other arrangements or you may need to pick up the chair at their shipping terminal/office. These cases are rare, but do happen from time to time.

Your lift chair ships directly from one of the supplier's five warehouse locations in the country and from the nearest location that has your chair in stock. If the driver is able to access your driveway and home, they will bring the lift chair into the threshold of your home. In some rare cases, the freight company may only be contracted to allow their drivers to provide curbside delivery.

The freight company and driver will be in touch with you to set up a delivery time once the lift chair has arrived to the nearest shipping center. Since every carrier is different and every home is different, we cannot guarantee that they are able to bring your chair directly into your front door. We suggest making arrangements to have a friend or family member at your home during the delivery time to help, if necessary.

Our free delivery service does not include the set up of your lift chair. Instructions for set up are provided and set up is fairly simple. You can always contact Mega Motion's technical department to assist with set up by calling 1-800-634-2508

If you require in-home delivery and set-up, please visit our white glove delivery page to learn more about this service. You can add white glove delivery for any Mega Motion lift chair at checkout.

UltraComfort Free White Glove Delivery Service

Currently, most UltraComfort lift chair orders include free white glove delivery, which includes in-home delivery and product set up. These free service does not include the extra charges to rural zip codes. Please review our white glove delivery page for more details on this service and double check that your zip code does not fall in a rural white glove delivery service area. Extra charges apply for rural white glove deliveries.

When Will I Receive My Lift Chair?

If your lift chair is in stock, it generally ships within 24-48 business hours. Lift Chair orders received on weekends and holidays will ship 24-48 business hours starting on the next business day the supplier's office is open. For example, if you order your chair on Saturday, it may not ship until the following Tuesday or Wednesday.

Depending on your location, customers generally receive their lift chairs within 5-7 business days after being shipped from the nearest warehouse where your particular item is in stock. White glove delivery shipping times may take anywhere from 6-10 business days. Our order department will advise you when your lift chair has shipped and will provide the carrier and tracking details via email. Holidays, weather conditions, and other situations beyond our control may increase shipping times.

**Anyone with white glove delivery service may experience delays in delivery due to the white glove delivery company's schedule and availability.

As of July 9, 2018, if your purchase is covered by the Norton Shopping Guarantee, you can file a claim to have your shipping charges reimbursed if your lift chair has not been received within the time frame indicated above. Welcome to Our Lift Chair Buying Guide

At Freedom Lift Chairs, we are committed to fitting you with the right lift chair that will restore your mobility, increase your comfort, and give you the emotional confidence you deserve.

As you age, it is normal for you to lose some mobility as muscles begin to stiffen and joints begin to ache. In order to avoid the pain of moving those muscles and joints, you may tend to become more sedentary, which unfortunately only makes the physical problems worse. In addition, your loss of physical freedom can affect your emotional well-being.

A lift chair works in partnership with your body to restore your mobility, comfort, and quality of life as a whole. As the name suggests, the chair is equipped with mechanisms—motors, to be exact—that lift the chair, and you, up and down, which restores your mobility and comfort as the chair itself does the work of raising and lowering you to and from the sitting position.

However, at Freedom Lift Chairs, we have gone beyond the simple purpose of helping you to get up and down. We have created a truly luxurious experience for your body both while moving from one position to the other, and for the moments you spend in the chair in between.

In this Buyer’s Guide, we will tell you everything you need to know to determine which lift chair is the right chair for you. We answer the questions:

  • How does a lift chair work?
  • What are the differences between the different types of lift chairs?
  • What size lift chair do I need?

How Do Lift Chairs Work?

Electric lift chairs give you full control over the movement of the chair. Each chair is equipped with a handheld remote control near the arm of the chair so that you can manage the lift, tilt, and—in applicable—the recline of the chair to your exact comfort level. The movement is slow and measured. There are no sudden thrusts or high speeds that could cause you discomfort or risks of falling once you are on your feet.

NOTE: We encourage you to avoid non-electric lift chairs, which use unpredictable springs to the lift the chair. These create obvious safety concerns, as the user is sometimes thrown from the chair. Many manufacturers no longer produce these spring models, and we hope every manufacturer will follow suit.

What are the Differences Between the Different Types of Lift Chairs?

All lift chairs are designed to lift you from a sitting to a standing position. However, there are four different kinds of lift chairs available, each of which feature additional position options to increase your comfort while in the chair:

  • Two-position lift chair
  • Three-position lift chair
  • Infinite-position lift chair
  • Zero-gravity lift chair

Two-Position Lift Chair

The two-position lift chair has one motor and features the lift and sit positions. It is designed to keep you mostly upright but can recline as far as 45 degrees. You can use the remote control to adjust your position to your comfort level to anywhere in between. The footrest automatically raises to match extent of the recline.

Please review the chart under “What Size Lift Chair Do I Need?” in order to select the best chair for your unique height and weight.

Three-Position Lift Chair

The three-position lift chair, or 3-way recliner, has one motor and features a lift, sit, and “watching TV” or “napping” position. The footrest automatically extends to gently support your legs and feet as you move back into the steeper recline. Although it can recline much further than the 45-degree recline of the two-position chair, the remote control gives you full control of the extension so that you can customize it to your unique comfort level.

Please review the chart under “What Size Lift Chair Do I Need?” in order to select the best chair for your unique height and weight.

Infinite-Position Lift Chair

The infinite-position chair has two motors and offers the lift, sit, recline, and lay positions. The two motors give you full control of both the footrest and the recline, which are independent of each other. Therefore, your remote control has two buttons instead of one. You are able to move the position into a completely flat position for comfortable sleeping or make any adjustments in between to create a customized comfort setting.

Please review the chart under “What Size Lift Chair Do I Need?” in order to select the best chair for your unique height and weight.

Zero-Gravity Lift Chair

The zero-gravity lift chair has two motors and offers the sit, recline, and lay positions, while also giving you the option to recline even further back and adjusting the footrest so that your legs and feet are slightly raised above your body. This extended reclined position offers additional health benefits, as it improves your circulation and helps to relieve lower back pain by stretching the muscles and aligning the spine. The two motors give you full control of both the footrest and the recline, which are independent of each other. Therefore, your remote control has multiple buttons instead of one.

Please Note: Zero Gravity Lift Chairs are also infinite position only they also have both the trendelenburg and the zero gravity features, offering a wider range or comfort levels.

Please review the chart under “What Size Lift Chair Do I Need?” in order to select the best chair for your unique height and weight.

Wide/XL - Users up to 6"0, Wider Seat Width (2" to 4"), 500 lbs. Weight Capacity

Our wide/XL (Heavy Duty) lift chair selection is best suited for users that require a wider seat and a higher weight capacity. The weight capacity our current selection accommodates up to 500lbs. The seat width on all three of our heavy duty models is 26 inches.

The seat to floor height is around 20 inches for this type of chair and seat depth ranges from 21 to 22 inches. Some users of this chair require a deeper seat depth as well, for this, we recommend the UC550-M26 since it allows the user to easily remove dacron from the pillows to adjust it to your comfort level.

We currently carry two different three-position models and one zero gravity model in the heavy duty sizes.
